The Materials Science and Engineering discipline is a first-class discipline construction project in Guangxi, and in the final evaluation of the first round of first-class discipline construction in Guangxi in July 2021, it received an “A” grade.

The Materials Science discipline entered the top 1% of ESI disciplines globally in 2015, and the Environmental/Ecology discipline entered the top 1% of ESI disciplines globally in 2021.
